The Virtual Voice of David Niall Wilson

The Gospel According to Felix - Free Fiction

I’m still recovering … have no voice, but I must speak, and all that…resulting in more soreness in the throat … but I didn’t want to leave you high and dry, and I had nothing even remotely profound to share.  What I did, instead, was to peruse the archive of my old journal over at Live Journal for something to post and relieve the boredom.  What I found was this sort of humorous, SF take on the second coming that I wrote long, long ago.

Apparently I shared it once before, but it’s easier to make the free fiction visible here in Word Press, so I’m moving it here, and reminding you it’s there.  I give you, Auldass the Elder, and the story of … well.  Go read.

  1. James Goodman Says:

Ah, that was quite an intriguing story. the inevitable merging of technology and relgion. The dependence of one or the other likely led to the downfall of man. It would only make sense that the only hope for civilazation would be to embrace the embodiment of both. Nicely done. :D

  2. David Says:

It was sort of born of the idea that we might create huge underground computer banks with all the information mankind would need to rebuild if there was a disaster…and then the entropy that followed, were fewer and fewer people had the actual knowledge to run / build such machines, and the only thing that kept them going at all was ritual…just maintenance, done to specs, for no other reason than that there is a paper that says DO THIS.

    And then we start again….REBOOT.
