The Virtual Voice of David Niall Wilson

Weekly Wrap - Storytellers, Characters, Books & More

Just a quick note to go back over what’s been here at Macabre Ink recently…one big post with linkage and wonders…just for those who missed all the fun. I’ll break it into short lists for simplicity.

www.storytellersunplugged.com has a brand new look. We are still making additions and tweaks, but my buddy and co-admin Joseph Nassise has it well in hand, and it’s looking sleek and more professional. For those not familiar with the site - it’s a blog with 30 or so contributors, each assigned a day of the month. All are published authors -some well known, others less well-known - plus a handful of industry professionals. Insight, advice, tales and more.

Right here on my sight, I’ve been creating flash fiction piecs inspired by those smiley faced emoticons we know and love.  They have their own page … and there are forty-six stories already available - free of charge.  Some are a little longer than others, but all of them are accompanied by their inspirational emoticon.  Check them out at THE NecronomICON page.

I’ve been doing some posting about writing - you’ll find essays on characterization and plot:

When the Characters Erase Your Words…and They are Right

Fiction is More Important Than History - What We Write

Writing the Mystery - Who Really Creates the Plot?

And last but not least … my co-writer, director, and producer from the movie GODHEAD has a new film - it’s been accepted to be presented internationally as part of a traveling event…

6º GEMINI - Blurgirl Productions 2008

More on the writing front this weekend, and upcoming review of Ayn Rand’s Manifesto on Romanticism.

I’d been reading SU regularly for a good while, but I’ve missed the past several weeks’ worth, except for a few scattered essays. Must remedy…

  2. DNW Says:
