R. I. P. Rocky, “Rocket-Man,” “The Rockmeister” …
Well, the vets did everything they could, but somehow Rocky got into antifreeze and it crystallized in his kidneys, which failed. He was on IV and medication all day trying to get him to rally — but apparently even a very small dog with the heart of a very big lion can’t beat kidney failure. We don’t know how or where he got it…he never really bothered a soul (other than us) so it seems unlikely to have been on purpose…
I hope wherever he’s gone, there are rabbits to chase, tennis balls, and cookies. I miss him more than I know how to put into words - which is odd, being a writer - and Rocky being a dog - but I loved the little guy.

oh, I’m so sorry to hear that, Dave. I’m a big pet person and I know for us, they are like part of the family. You have my deepest condolences.
How are the cat the cocker spaniel fairing?

The cat and the bigger dog pulled through. Apparently the danger is that crystals form in the kidneys and block them up…if they drink and clear often enough, it washes the crystals out before they can do their damage…Rocky was too little, and apparently got a larger dose…he fought it hard, but … Not going to be a good time for me…he was my buddy.

I’m so very sorry. We had to euthanize our 16-year-old little dog, in 2001, and there’s not a day since that my wife and I haven’t missed her. I wish there was something I could do.

Awwww, man. Rocky was a hoot. I know how hard that is losing him. I hate that happened, and I really hope it was accidental. We’ll remember him fondly.

Yeah…he WAS a hoot…crazy little fluff ball. Even Mark liked him, and Mark is not much of a dog lover…of course, Rocky was more the size and fluff of a cat…
