Mother’s Day … A Time for Treadmills and Tony’s Pizza
I am one of those lucky fellas that has his mom AND the mother of his children in the house, so Mother’s Day here is sort of a complicated affair. The first thing I have to do is pick up whatever we won from last night’s antique auction (we leave bids and either win, or don’t, but can’t bring ourselves to sit in amongst the pile of rednecks all evening to duke it out over boxes of junk). I think (maybe) we got a bunch of cool old magazines.
Next stop will take my son and I to Walmart to pick out the treadmill that was chosen for Mother’s Day. This complete, we will come home…PROBABLY spend most of the day figuring out where to put the treadmill - and also cleaning (as promised) the too-long-ignored turtle tank.
Tonight we will go to Tony’s Pizza in Elizabeth City, NC. If you come out this way…don’t miss Tony’s. It’s one of those cool places with celebrity photos and signatures by the cashier, and dripping atmosphere. It’s been there forever, and it’s fairly obvious to those lucky enough to eat there why it’s lasted so long. The food is WONDERFUL.
Anyway..there will be little writing accomplished today…but that’s okay…I have a house full of mother’s to tend to…and life is good.
