Montrovant Lives…Apparently I Created an Icon…?
This is just a short post to point out one of the odder Google searches I’ve done. I created a vampire character for White Wolf - Montrovant - he was an arrogant, aristocratic Lasombra with the idea that he could, and would, find The Holy Grail and elevate his clan above all others. I wrote him into a trilogy that was very popular, despite the best efforts of the company, who left my name off of the cover of book II and took Book III out of print while the first two were still in print.
My trilogy entwined with another author’s, and they had that author kill my character (My belief is that the character was too popular)
Results 1 - 10 of about 8,300 for montrovant. (0.07 seconds)
So anyway…today I googled Montrovant. I found, among other things, a guy calling himself Montrovant with profiles on every vampire and gothic board in the world, slash fan-fic, reviews and excerpts in several languages, and at least one other gaming company that lists a character named Montrovant with almost identical stats to my White Wolf creation …
I find it a bit…odd…but heartening. Someone read those books…

Hi Mister Wilson, before anything i want to say to I am very happy to have found your blog, always I wanted to make him come my admiration for this very disfrutable novel and all the Incredible´s chars.
I really enjoy reading the trilogy of the holy grial and the vampire montrovant quickly became my favorite char of the entire book (and subsecuents) i dare to say even of the entire white wolf metaverse.
my friends and i even include him in as invited guest in one of our cronicles.
recently i finish the third book and many questions come to me but very few answers. (what happened whit gwen?)
but anyway, yesterday start the “secuel”
the curse of blood, the main reason was in the preface said that is a sort of secuel of chars of the holy grial saga and i really want to know more about those.
so answer your question, yes, you create a very cool char, a very impresive history and a few but dam loyal fans of montrovant.
Regards from Merida Yucatan Mexico. (yes, many of your fans not are even natural english speakers xD)
if you some day answer this litle comment i gonna be very honored

I’m the one who is honored. I had no idea. I love Montrovant, but since I wrote him for White Wolf, I’ve never been able to go back to the character, or the story…I just noticed he was still popular. I’m glad. I wanted to write a story that would be remembered, and a character that would stick with people.
Gracias, mi amigo,
David
