Guitar Hero - Cisco Cable Pullers - Monday (feh)
Well, I learned things today. For instance, I still suck at Guitar Hero. We bought the first game a few days ago, and it all started well enough, but I’ll tell you - I have a lot better luck with the real guitar. I’m working my way through the first level, but it’s painful, and the worst is the fourteen-year-old arrogant game geek on the couch who is almost through medium. When I feel really bad, I quit and go get my real guitar, crank up the amp and drown out the game.
Today at work I learned that Cisco has laid off a lot of workers. The men pulling the new network cable for our phone / Internet system used to work for Cisco…now they are independent contractors. Apparently when the market took it’s crash the other day there was a very short period where one could acquire Cisco very cheaply. Wish I’d been aware…those boys are going nowhere but back up (probably there already). I always miss the good opportunities.
