Don Paresi - Images and Darkness Collide
On my old website I threw together a page for my friend and collaborative inker of images, Don Paresi, because his other site over on Angel Fire is rife with pop-up ads and I wanted to help. This time out, thanks to a very cool plug-in for Word Press, I’ve been able to create a gallery for him that includes some of his black and white art, and some of his finer color pieces (including some of the covers and interior illustrations he’s done for my own books).
I hope that soon I’ll get Don set up to have more prints available, and get him linked through the Horror Mall so that people can buy, and enjoy his work. I’ve known him a very long time. We served together in the US Navy, on my first ship. We played guitar into the middle of the night, chased demons through downtown San Diego and as far away as the Philippines - always with pens, notebooks, paper, and guitars close to hand.
Don has done the covers for my novel Ancient Eyes and my collection Defining Moments, as well as the cover for my upcoming Five Star novel, and my soon-to-be-officially-announced collection from Dark Regions - Ennui & Other States of Madness. He did a lot of interior illustrations for the upcoming “Monster Noir” anthology that I have a story in … he’s done comics (his own comic was titled Sepulcher and can be found sometimes for sale on the net, as well as many set of collectible cards, naked drawings of Betty Page, and other sundry bits of artistic detritus).
Anyway…you can either click on the Don Paresi link on the right, or click on the image below to visit the new Don Paresi Page here at Macabre Ink. I hope to have an interview with him to post soon.
