You have until December 1st to Pre-order
I added the links over at my bookstore site, as well. If you want to take advantage of getting this novel directly through the author and signed, while saving $5.99 on the cover price…act soon.
I will have to let the publisher know at some point how many copies I need. Also remember one dollar for every book I sell will go to the Nanowrimo charity fund.
This is a fun book – Vampires, mystery, magic – crows … did I mention vampires? This is the first book in what I hope will be a long-running series, so an autographed copy of the first edition of the first book … well, I’m not saying it’s VALUABLE or anything.. (lol).
QUICK – click the link on the right and pre-order, or visit the bookstore…browse…and add that pre-order to your shopping cart!

Another Peek at Art from the Limited Edition

Internal art for the limited by Don Paresi
For those of you who don’t buy books just to read, there will also be a signed limited edition of Vintage Soul, published by Bad Moon Books, who also published my novella “The Not Quite Right Reverend Cletus J. Diggs & The Currently Accepted Habits of Nature.” This limited will feature cover and interior art by the talented Don Paresi, who some will remember did the covers for my collections, “Defining Moments,” and “Ennui & Other States of Madness.” He also did the cover art for my novel “Ancient Eyes,” that was published by Bloodletting Books.
I also wanted to take this time to remind you all that you can begin pre-ordering the HC edition of Vintage Soul now. I will put up ordering info on the limited edition as soon as I have it, but there are some great discounts here (see the widget on the right, or go to the page link for preordering the book to find the Paypal button). One dollar from each sale goes to the Nanowrimo charity fund, and you get a signed book. Vampires! Magic! Mystery! Who could ask for more.
Book collectors should note that Donovan DeChance, protagonist of this novel, is ALSO a book collector.

Discounts on Vintage Soul Preorder Soon
I’m working out the final details of the discounts I’m offering on Vintage Soul. I’ve decided to simplify somewhat. National Novel Writing Month always donates money to build libraries in places where books are desperately needed. Instead of diversifying the charity segment, I’m going to make that the sole charity of this promotion. Nanowrimo helped me get the novel written, and I’m going to help them back.
The deal will be this – I just don’t have the infrastructure in place to start taking payments.
The book costs $26.99 – it’s a hardcover novel. Unsigned.
If you preorder it from me the following discounts will be applied:
If you follow me on Twitter – $20, plus the book is signed. Shipping will be $3 on all copies with all discounts.
If you are my friend on Facebook – same discount.
If you have participated in or will participate this year in Nanowrimo you get the book for $22.50 . If you are a past “WINNER” of Nanowrimo, you get it for $20.
You will have the option to donate any percent of your discount to the Nanowrimo charity. The promotion will run from whenever I get the order form live until the 15th of December. I will entertain orders after that, but I have to get my order in early to be sure I get the number of copies I request, particularly if it’s a big number…
More than 20 % off – AND it’s signed…that’s not too shabby, huh?
More to follow.
Vintage Soul Write Up by Emmy Award Winner!
When the ITW journalist assigned to me to write up “Vintage Soul” for THE BIG THRILL – the monthly newsletter of the International Thriller Writers, I had no idea what I was in for. I did this job once, long ago, writing bits and blurbs on authors and upcoming books, and I figured I’d be assigned to some schlep like me. Much to my surprise, I found that the articles are now much longer and more comprehensive, and the lady assigned to interview me and do the write-up was enthusiastic and meticulous. Still, I didn’t have the presence of mind to click the link on her name and find out who it was, a misstep that I have, I assure you, rectified.
I introduce you to Author, journalist, and a very nice lady : Paula Tutman
Not only is she a very talented, very cool lady, she has some very good things to say about my novel:
Okay, I get it. Much of the world seems to love vampires these days. But David Niall Wilson will tell you, Vintage Soul is not a vampire novel any more than it’s a story about washed up Motown divas. His newest novel just happens to have vampires as the victims. And that’s what makes it so much fun.
Rather than the usual suspects of cops and robbers or good guys and bad guys, this supernatural whodunit takes the reader into the unfamiliar territory of the mystical and into a world many could never imagine–the shared world of the living and the undead. And a compelling cast of wizards, magicians, and yes, vampires will solve the mystery.
And while you’re there, check out all of the other authors highlighted in this month’s issue. The Big Thrill is a great way to find out about upcoming books by new and established thriller authors.
