And the 2007 Bram Stoker Award for Short Fiction Goes to…
A very humble, very appreciative ex-President of the HWA…me. I’ve only got a moment but I wanted to thank my agent, Bob Fleck, for accepting in my place. I enjoyed watching the awards ceremony on the Internet…to share a bit of that, here is a link to the video of Bob Accepting for me…there are a number of short clips recorded, including a very heartfelt and touching speech from Gary Braunbeck as he accepted the award in Long Fiction for a story I’m happy to say I read, recommended, and voted for. In fact, if you go to the right of this blog post and follow the reviews link, you’ll find my review of Five Strokes to Midnight where his story appeared, and my thoughts on it. By the way, the aforementioned anthology also won…can I pick ‘em or what?

We had a blast with offering the video feed to several viewers on Saturday night. The internet is a great tool!

Thanks Steve. I’m looking forward to getting my copy of Man on the Ceiling, which I expect to be getting some notice this year as well…
That’s a heck of a list of folks to be associated with, and it feels better, even, than I’d expected.
Jeff….>THANK YOU GUYS< that rocked. We got in bed with my laptop and drank beer just like we were there (only more comfortable) and didn’t miss a thing!

Interesting, that video seems a lot shorter than it felt standing up there on stage. I was happy and proud to be there in your stead, Dave.
And now that’s done, time to go sell more books.

Agreed. When I saw what others had done, I wondered why it never occurred to me to send you something to read (sigh). Ah well, live an dlearn.
